School Outings At GSP
With the support of volunteers from our partner grottos, the Great Saltpetre Cave Preserve is happy to provide an educational experience for students in Rockcastle and surrounding Counties.
- Can be tailored for any age group,
- Can accommodate group sizes from 20 to 80 students,
- Applicable to Public School, Private School, and
Homeschool groups,
- Trips arranged in the Fall & Spring.

Subjects covered: (age appropriate levels)
- History of the Cave
- Geology of the Cave
- Biological organisms in the Cave
- Can accommodate other scientific topics
Outline:
- Allow four hours (9:00-9:30 to 1:30-2:00)
- Program under the Shelter
- 75-minute tour of the Cave
- Time for lunch
- Time to play in the field
Typically scheduled on Fridays, some Thursdays.
Donations requested to cover utility expenses.
Waiver of liability required by our Insurance Company.
Parents & Grandparents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Students say they had a great time seeing the formations, finding a bat, and especially going through Pinch-Em'-Tight Alley. Educators are glad to bring their students back year after year.
