The preservation work happening at the Great Saltpetre Preserve is possible because of the work of many people. Some of the groups that help support the preserve are listed below.

The Rockcastle Karst Conservancy

RKC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and preservation of caves and karst in the region of Kentucky in and around Rockcastle County. RKC owns the GSP property.

The National Speleological Society

The NSS is the nation's largest cave conservation group, and also provides the Great Saltpetre Preserve with web hosting.

Greater Cincinnati Grotto

The Greater Cincinnati Grotto is one of four area grottoes that helps maintain the preserve. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dayton Underground Grotto

The Dayton Underground Grotto is one of four area grottoes that helps maintain the preserve. Based in Dayton, Ohio.

Blue Grass Grotto

The Blue Grass Grotto is one of four area grottoes that helps maintain the preserve. Based in Lexington, Kentucky.

Central Ohio Grotto

The Central Ohio Grotto is one of four area grottoes that helps maintain the preserve. Based in Columbus, Ohio.
